Negative feedback - a new low in EBAY lunacy

After warming to Ebays new friendlier approach to sellers - it was abruptly cut short today.
I normally have a favourite time for live chat - when the nicest staff seem to be on. But today i didn't care what time it was - as Ebay would never refuse to remove this NEG. How wrong was i.
Buyer bids, win and pays. All good so far. He then demands a refund cos he changed his mind and threatens to get Ebay onto me if i don't hurry up with the refund.
No point sending - as buyer might damage it and return it. So full refund given and buyer mutually cancels.
Forwards two months and a NEG appears - item never arrived. Of course it didn't - we cancelled and i don't have your money.
But according to Ebay - the buyer has a right to still feel upset at not having the item - even though he requested a cancellation. Not owning the item he originally paid for as given him a negative Ebay experience - and therefore the feedback stands.
Utter looneys - and i'm now back hating the wackos at Ebay as much as ever. The buyer also left another seller a neutral saying 'not bad'. He buys an item a month - yet Ebay don't want to upset him removing his neg. But happy to upset me - who spends a fortune with them and follows all the rules. Nuts.
If hes trashed all my stars too - should be interesting getting Ebay to explain that - seeing as no sale took place.

can you still respond to feedback ?
'buyer changed mind and full refund given'0 -
Some times I think I've seen it all with eBay. Other times I feel that I've woken up in some alternate universe where there are no rules and the inmates are running the asylum.
Sorry to hear about your neg. They can be obdurate on feedback removal!0 -
Ive stopped selling altogether as my last experience was very unpleasant.

Techspec is quite rightly worried about the defect rate, nobody really cares about negative comments as most buyers look past them and concentrate on the wider picture.
Techspec, you mention quite a lot about getting feedback and stars removed, do you think perhaps it can be some sort of imposed limit which you have reached?
I ask because I read on the community boards that some one was told this unofficially, that they had a lot of stuff removed and there has to be a stage at which ebay consider something is wrong. That is the reason I didn't nag them to remove my new low star for despatch- I thought I would save it in case I got something more nasty later.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I had a negative removed once.... was in my favour and had the evidence through messages.
The interesting part was....it took my third ebay chat to remove it, the first two chat people didnt notice the problem.
Might be worth opening a few chats until someone sees it your way.0 -
Very early on I was left 6 negs one after the other by the same buyer who refused to pay postage which I had combined to cost. She just paid for the items by ticking the collection option.
Ebay chat removed 5 and the rep said that was the maximum she could remove so one neg had to stay

Hi Soolin - no they are for different accounts. I've just been shaving the odd low star off here and there - where the culprit it obvious and feedback malicious (normally cos i refuse to be blackmailed now - eg lower price after sale, post same day, or spot a scammer - as i did last week and was proved right today getting a suspicious buyer email from Ebay ). I admit standing up to them has risks - but this is the first time i have asked for a removal on this account. I was jus getting to it though for my one low star. But this as priority now.
I did go 2 years with no low stars or bad feedback accross all my accounts - but i've had enough of bully buyers now - so open to more malicious feedback.Did he state the reason he changed his mind?
They spotted the item cheaper and was quite abrupt about how mine was a rip off. So no point even considering a discount when they talk to you like crap.
Im thinking of trying again - but does anyone know if the first rep - who was quite rude and arrogant in the end - cutting me off - will have left a note on the account giving him the final say. Or will other reps be able to change this?0 -

Don't know if they do make notes like that - but I have successfully have feedback removed on the 2nd or 3rd tries after being told no initially. Good luck!0 -
I don't bother with eBay anymore I use the local selling pages on Facebook, no postage outlay and no fees .0
