BT Special offer discount expired

Hi, I just noticed that a contract I made over the phone with BT expires in 12 months, I was paying around £40 for broadband and phone but got it down to £27.50 after making a call.
However I did'nt realize it was only for 12 months and the price goes back to the normal price. So for the last year I thought I was still paying £27.50 But was actually paying £44
I was not informed of the price change.
Is it worth trying to ask BT for a refund of the "overpayment" or am I wasting my time?
Thanks

Its not an overpayment its the full contract price. You failed to negotiate a lower price.
I have an 18 month deal with Plusnet. I know when that ends they will charge the full going rate. So i either payup or contact them for a better deal or go elsewhere.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

If they lead you to believe the deal was "for life" rather than just in return for a new 12 month minimum contract then you have grounds to complain and ask for a refund.
The issue should be easily resolved by them listening to the phone call when you agreed the deal.
Ask them to do so and provide a transcript and take it from their reply.0 -
You didn't check your BT statement or bank statements for 12 months?
No deals are for life, nor are they fixed price. They're simply a discount of £x against the current price. If that rises, so does your price-only the discount remains fixed. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
