The EU debate

Anyone watching it?

Clegg is annoying me a bit to be honest. Farage states his position a A B and C and then Clegg suggests "Nigel's position on this is X Y and Z".

Clegg also looks like he's going to explode! Farage seems very good at succint answers to the questions. Clegg so far doesn't seem to have actually answered much, just had a go at Farage.

While I realise I will probably be bias, as I feel we would be better off outside of the EU, I am trying to be fair.

Farage appears to be getting the audience applause too. Clegg getting very very personal.

One things for sure....we, the public, are getting nothing constructive out of this. It's basically a political boxing match.

"People like Nigel Farage want this and this"...

"I wouldn't be surprised if people like Nigel Farage believed Elvis wasn't dead".

Getting ugly! Like the way Farage stands there at the end of the assault and says one thing in response and Clegg's off again :D

Interesting on on infrastructure. Clegg states we must make sure the infrastructure is up to it. However, he can't give one response as to what they will or are doing, other than reduce benefits. So if they must do something, I'm left wondering why they aren't.... seems he often forgets he's in government.

Farage is obviously just against the high levels anyway, so his response is rather different. However, he's talking of schools overflowing and housing not up to demand.

Edit: Good, Dimbeby has tasked Clegg to actually answer the infrastructure and what they need to do. Clegg states we must stop scaremongering. Dimbely asks him again. Cleggs stumbling and just saying "you can't wish away the fact that people want to move countries". I.e., no answer after 3 times being asked. Stumbling, muttering.

Think so far this has pushed me further into the "out" camp. The questions are simply not be answered from Clegg, it's just constant spin. He's just tried to attach a nasty little pamphlet onto Farage, holding it up to cameras, but failed on that too as it's nothing to do with UKIP or indeed Farage.

Clegg is now trying to suggest Farage thinks women are worth less. Getting a little pathetic.

The problem is the EU cannot be reformed because the political elite in the EU don't want reform. So the arguement that we need to stay in and fight for reform is a total red herring and it can't be done.

The fact is there has been very little reform over the years full stop. The CAP was reformed but that was watered down considerably.

Politically Clegg is a dead duck at the next GE and will be shipped off to the EU.

The British Public are intelligent enough to vote for Government in the UK but not intelligent enough to have a vote on our membership of the EU...

How many times have we been told "Now is not the right time to have a referendum on our EU membership that could put our economic recovery at risk"...........

What a complete cop out and Clegg has been very, very poor at justifying the EU.

I know its easier to see faults rather than the good aspects of the EU but Clegg was very poor at promoting the EU and he spent far too long trying to throw mud at Farage "Putins best friend" and Farage backing Putin who was the only leader to back the Syrian regime, trying to say that Farage was in effect backing the murdering/rape of women and children in Syria.

I'm starting to feel sorry for Clegg now. He's completely outdone by Farage.

Clegg may have some good points, but he isn't able to express them. Just watching him he looks completely exhausted and now every single comment it seems from Clegg is now simply about Farage, rather than the debate.

Dunno why he appears to think that suggesting Farage "wants to see violence on our streets" just because he wants out of EU laws is a good thing to say in a national debate.

The debate in the end, was pretty pointless. Though I feel Farage came out well on top, and just counting up the applauses that each speaker got will show that.

The only thing I got out of it was, Cleggy boy informing us that the EU are going to reduce roaming charges . .. really? Well, that'll sort everything out, did Clegg just save the world?

In or out, why are the main parties so against a referendum?

Ouch. Danny Alexander on BBC News has just lumped everyone who wants out of the EU as "Anti Europeans".

Wasn't a slip of the tounge either. Was setup that way.
