you know, I was on the verge of throwing the towel in today, but I would hate to pay these people for something I didn't do, its just that its been going on for so long now.

You received some letters before, you ignored them, nothing happened.

You've received another letter. Ignore it, nothing will happen. Why would it be any different?

What you could do is complain to DVLA that VCS is in breach of its KADOE contract with DVLA. The KADOE contract expressly states that registered keeper details may only be requested for the "reasonable cause" of recovering unpaid parking charges, and by no stretch of the imagination could stopping for 11 seconds to get your bearings be construed as "parking".

Point out to them that VCS does this regularly at Liverpool and its other airport sites and, according to DVLA's own "KADOE Service Suspension Principles", intentionally and systematically using the KADOE service for reasons that are unauthorised and not specified in the KADOE contract is an "Irremediable Material Breach" which must "incur immediate termination of access to the KADOE service".

Ask them to confirm that VCS' access to the KADOE service has so been terminated, and tell them that you are not interested in hearing that it's not DVLA's job to regulate parking firms, you are simply demanding that DVLA enforces its own rules and contracts.

Many thanks to Stroma, Coupon-Mad and Bazster also everyone else who has replied to my post, you have got me back on track and fired up, I will try writing to DVLA as suggested, and think I should write a strong letter to debt collector too, because I deny that I owe anything to anyone. I'm so new to this, took me all morning to find my way back here lol, so patience with me would be much appreciated.

I presume from the explanation that you were caught on CCTV.

This reminds me of that daffy council who sent somebody a fine for stopping in a queue at traffic lights!

Did you get out of the car? Or simply pause with the engine running for a few seconds while you looked through a few windows to get your bearings? If the latter, you were not parked and that is your trump card to play in the unlikely event you go to court. Personally, I would look forward to that day just to see the looks on their faces as they get roasted by the judge!

Does the original ticket say you were parked, or had you contravened a "no stopping" regulation indicated by signs or red lines?

Thank you C-M, the more I come to this site the better I will be at it hopefully. It was the latter DaveF, engine running and nobody got out of the car.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother writing to the debt collector. They have the hide of a rhinoceros and will be completely unmoved by a strong letter, all it will do is tell them you are rattled which will only prompt them to write to you again and more aggressively.

Well more letters from debt collectors threatening to knock on my door to collect payment, (can they do that), also a phone call from them asking me to call them back, also threatening court action, should I still ignore?
