CPP Ticket

Hello,

My partner received a parking ticket at work from the CPP, she works on a university business park and pays each month for a parking pass. In December she received a parking ticket when she was parked in the correct allocated spaces that her parking pass pays for. Since the inital ticket she has received two letters, the last received on Saturday stating we have 14 days to pay £80 (originally was £40) or they will look to appoint a debt collections agency to recover all moneys / take to court. We ignored the first letter but this second letter has us slightly worried. The ethos at her workplace is to ignore all letters and they eventually go away!

I have read varying topics / posts on the forum and do not know if a) we should continue to ignore the letters & b) if we are too late to reply!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It seems like you are past the normal appeals process stage. Unless others advise differently, you're probably in the "continue ignoring and they'll eventually go away" stage.

For the record ... a debt recovery company are toothless, clawless tigers - they can seem very scary but can ultimately do nothing. They certainly can't take you to court. It is debatable whether even CPP could take you to court - it depends on whether their contract with the university conveys that right (to pursue action in their own name).

    Hi Liveforever1

Take a look at this thread posted by someone currently dealing with CPP

As bod1467 says you're past the normal appeals process stage - though you could still try a late appeal as the poster in the above link has - the thread shows what to expect from CPP either way.

So many threads all the same - no need for a new thread when a search explains all. Search this forum for 'CPP pink letter'. The advice to ignore is OLD though so it's not what we recommend - as no doubt you will have read before posting, when you read the info sticky thread: 'Private parking ticket? NEWBIES please read these FAQs first!' at the top of the forum.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
