Thanks everyone for the good wishes - haven't had time to get used to it yet!! I will apply for the roll of honour so watch out for the symbol appearing soon....re how much was the debt...weeell I had to go back to the snowball calculator to find this out...are you ready for this because it frightened me :

I only have figures from 2009 but I actually started my DF journey in 2006 when I joined this community ....

Debt in 2009 was £93,610.30  which was spread over 12 credit cards between myself & DH - all interest-bearing with the highest interest at an eye-watering 27% , plus a £9K loan. In addition to that as per my sig we had a running bank overdraft of £5K - every month - & another £2k o/d on another account with the same bank. And since our mortgage was an offset, we had a facility on there as well which was up to the hilt :eek::eek::eek: you can probably see why I didn't sleep too well.

It's been 8 years of struggle but we finally did it....that day will come though sometimes you think it never will.

Popping in now to PAD £20 to savings plz TTFTM :jGosh that feels weird - 'savings'!!!!
New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear

for me today please. But it IS the end of the month.

Mine is into a savings, with the end game of paying off some debt with it, but it seems to keep being spent! (Not on day to days mind you) but now my Uni child is hitting me up for rental deposit because the house has come through two months before the student loan.

It's frustrating this watching it build up then watching it disappear..

Sashanut you are officially my HERO of the day. What an awesome achievement.
