Vodafone cancels their non-expiring data sim
A few years ago Vodafone offered a data sim and dongle that was Pay as You Go but with credit that didn't expire. Their T&Cs just said that to retain the non-expiring credit you just had to ensure it was used every 180 days. 1GB of data cost £15.
I got three for my family members and we've been using them for holidays in the UK when wifi wasn't available.
When I was looking at the problems at Ovivo recently I noticed that users of the Vodafone sims were all complaining it had been withdrawn in January. (http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Mobile-Broadband/Mobile-Broadband-K3565-Non-Expiring-Credit/td-p/503230/page/2)
Vodafone claimed they had given notice by sending texts to all users. No-one seemed to have received them, and in any case it seems a bizarre way to contact data sim users, when many, including me had registered an email and postal address.
Vodafone, seem to have high handedly decided that all these users were not profitable and rather than just let those contracts carry on, Voda have cancelled them.
Pretty poor in my view and I will never trust them again.
