Interview under caution

we do live together, just didnt put it in the op as didnt know if it mattered.
stormy: he applied using the jobcentre online website.
And do you work?
Has your boyfriend been claiming contributions based JSA (based on his NI contributions) or is he now on income based JSA?
When on contribution based JSA a partner's income/savings is not taken into account. When on income based JSA then it is.
A partner actually means someone he is living with (regardless of whether you have separate finances)0 -
its contribution based jsa, its also a joint claim with me, sorry i didnt mention that its just that its only his name on the letter from this morning, it is addressed to him and the letter says he has to go for the interview, i am declared as living with him, and we usually go and sign on together on the same day and have all our advisor interviews together as well, usually all letters are addressed to both of us, this one is only him.
I do not work atm after losing my job last year.0 -
Sounds like it might just be a mix up.
Perhaps they don't not realise he turned it down because it was a zero hour contract. Or they might think he worked there for a while.
It should be a pretty easy thing to prove, show his bank statements, the company can also back up his story.0 -
If they have invited him to attend an iuc I would expect them to have some wage details or something.
If you are that worried you could always ring & ask the interview to be brought forward if they can. Get it over & done with.0 -
I have to agree, if he has done nothing wrong then there is nothing to fear & he should just go along & answer any questions truthfully.
If he is really worried & feels he needs some kind of legal representation (which really isn't needed when claimant isn't aware of any wrongdoing at all), then the person who is representing you can speak to the DWP before the commencement of the interview & it will be revealed to them the exact reason why you have been called in.
Usually before asking you to attend an IUC they do usually feel they have a just cause with evidence before calling you in, but obviously mistakes can be made.
They will not bring the interview forward if you ask them as a poster here suggests. The only reason an interview can be rescheduled is either for serious medical issues or that a person needs time to arrange representation or for what is termed an appropriate person to accompany them. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
I presumed DWP were notified of the work? paid or unpaid all work must be declared.0

I am a benefit investigator & we rearrange interviews all the time. It's preferable to make the time more convenient than risk someone not turn up.0 -
i cant see that it is the work trial. failure to take a jpob that is offered, or not telling them of a days unpaid work would result in a sanction at most.
an interview under caution is usually to do with benefit entitlement and is usuakky carried out after initial investegations have been carried out and the DWP think they have enough evidence to consider further action.
but as has already been said ... mistakes can be made
