Vodafone unlock iphone3GS/NUC Resolutions

I've been trying to get my iPhone unlocked for over a month now and am still waiting for a code. Is anyone else experiencing problems or actually getting an unlock code from Vodafone?

I originally filled out the official unlock form at the end of Feb, waited a couple of weeks, then spoke to an advisor on web chat who told me to wait some more which I was happy to do as long as the unlock was being processed.
A couple more weeks went by so I got back on the web chat and the second advisor told me to email NUC Resolutions, which I did and got this (probably automated) response:

Thank you for your mail regarding your Network Unlocking Code.

Please note we are experiencing a high level of requests at this time. Your code will be provided as soon as possible.

Kind Regards
NUC Resolutions Team

If I can't get an unlock code from Vodafone, what is my next move? I don't want to jailbreak the phone if at all possible.

It would be nice if someone at Vodafone could at least tell me the status of my unlock request, like was it received? is it being processed? Just something, anything would be better than nothing!

iPhones don't require any code for unlocking, but this doesn't help you to speed the process up.
AFAIK jailbreaking works only until the next iOS update and cannot substitute a permanent unlocking.

See this recent thread for alternative(s): ovivo, apple iphone and invalid sim

You dont get an unlock code with iphones. It doesnt work that way, instead vodafone tell apple to modify their database to unlock your phone.

So next time it queries the database i.e. when you insert a different sim - you should get a message saying your phone has been unlocked. You may need to connect to itunes but I think that requirement has been removed.

try a different sim and see if it works!
