The online booking flagged up that his passport needed renewed however has allowed her to complete the process. Next stop Glasgow Airport tomorrow night.

So who is going to the airport tomorrow night expecting to travel to Thailand?

    All of you?

Do you have any contingency if the boy is denied boarding?

Her contingency plan is to leave him with his grandparents. Her decision. Wouldn't be mine.

    Have I got this right?

She is taking her 12 year old son to the airport tonight hoping he will be allowed to travel.

If he's not allowed to travel, he's going to go home with his grandparents whilst his Mum and his brother go off to Thailand........

And if he is allowed to fly but then refused entry to Thailand?

Hi, I really feel for you as YOU have done everything you can to ensure all this goes smoothly. Your friend on the other hand, is leaving everything far too much to chance! You cannot possibly take a 12 year old to the airport knowing it's 50/50 he's going - poor little mite. Anyway, I hope you manage to have a good holiday :)
