post office currency travel card

I'm travelling to the US next year and am looking at my options regarding a pre paid travel card. Looking at most of the major cards they seem to all offer the basic same thing. But I've noticed that the post offices card is hardly mentioned. And was wondering if anyone had ever used them and what there experience is of them. The card would most likely be used once, if it was to be used more it would be a few years down the line, so it seems to suit my needs as there apears to be no inactivity fee, and any left over money could be spent online on sites that charge in dollers. Im not overly concerned with the ATM charges as I'll take a small bit of cash to cover tipping, housekeeping, and small bits and bobs.

The reason they don't get mentioned much on here is that they are relatively expensive compared to other options.
Does it have to be a prepaid card? Have you considered getting a Halifax Clarity credit card, which gives the best possible rate?Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
I'd prefer a pre paid card over a credit card, as I'm not overly fond of credit cards as I've been turned down for them before, due to a lack of credit history. Plus my monthly income is extremely tight and don't want to risk over spending.0

If to be used for mainly purchases and larger withdrawals, Kalixa Pay. You might find a Promo Code that wipes out the initial £6.95 card fee.
Otherwise FairFx Anywhere or ICE International GBP £ Travellers Cashcard
Forget about the Post Office card or a card denominated in US$.0
