    Probably for hands free calls, not all cars have connections for phones, we have a Garmin nuvi 1695 which we bought 2 years ago from Halfords, complete with lifetime maps updates. But we don't use the bluetooth with it now since the BMW we have allows bt via the radio, in the previous car we used the bt with the nuvi 660 .

    Correct, they want it for their old car.

    There are a lot of mixed reviews on some of the sat navs.

    There are mixed reviews for most kit,not just sat navs if it works some say no it doesn't, our Nuvi has been perfect for UK France and Belgium, plus the canaries as a hand held
