Northern Rock Credit Card PPI

Options
Hi All

Back in 2000/2001 we took out a mortgage with Northern Rock and around the same time took out a credit card too.

I am trying to find out if we had PPI on the credit card, we already checked with NRAM and the mortgage did not have PPI. According to NRAM all PPI was managed by Cardiff Pinnicle, Soooooo of to phone Cardiff Pinnicle who informed me that they did indeed manage PPI for Northern Rock but only from June 2001, prior to that it would have been managed by Aviva........ Soooooo of to phone Aviva, who after some time on hold told me that they did indeed manage PPI for northern Rock but NOT the Credit Cards and they do not know who did.

Does anyone on here know who managed the PPI for NOrthern Rock Credit Cards prior to June 2001?

Kind Regards

Nelix

If you had PPI on your credit card it would show on the statements each month.

Unfortunately I no longer have any statements as the card was paid off and account closed back in 2005.

Any mis-selling complaint must go to the seller of the insurance, not the provider. If you have no documentation from your own archive, it's even less likely that the Bank will after so long.

What I do know is that Northern Rock sold its credit card business to the Co-Op Bank in 2003. I don't know the terms of the deal, but I suspect that liability for any potential mis-sale would have remained with NR.

The chances of NR having retained records of an account relating to a business it sold 11 years ago would seem remote. I imagine that whatever documentation they had relating to active accounts in 2003 would have been passed to the Co-Op Bank; whether they are still in possession of any records after the account closure in 2005 would be a question only they could answer.
