Downgrading Flex Direct to FlexAccount for a year

Would this allow me to get the 5% rate in a year?
I'm aware of a clause in the T&Cs about promotional rates about this.
However has anyone actually tested this?

Feel free to try. Anyone testing it won't get results until March next year, but I assume this wouldn't work.0

Wouldn't it be easier to open a couple of TSB plus accounts to get 5%?0

Changing to a FlexPlus doesn't strike me as a downgrade. Do you perhaps mean downgrading to a FlexAccount?
Though I also doubt this cunning plan would work.0 -

Thanks I've amended the title!
That's why I'm asking it's better to learn from someone else's mistakes!0 -

There was a post somewhere suggesting that after closing a FlexDirect account for a year one could reapply and get the bonus. I don't know where this information came from and in any case the rules / bonus rates may be completely different in 12 months' time. As the FlexDirect account only became available about a year ago no one has had the opportunity to have an account for 1 year then move away for 1 year then come back again.0 -
I have also been wondering this. Think I'll contact them and see what they say.0
