Why, what would you do?Moneyineptitude wrote: »but not if they all simply repeat what has been said previously!
This one has baffled me for years. I've been a member of many types of forums & this seems to have plagued them all with the exception of the music forums i was a member of & by that i mean people getting traumatised by things being said more than once. This board is a classic for that (the grumblings, not the repeatings).
99.9% of the time those grumbling about it come across as argumentative sods & i simply can't be bothered asking, but since you seem ok & not a banana like the others who seem to just WANT to grumble i'll ask you.....
Why not when you see something like that do you not just 'walk on by'? Oh there's something that's been asked again & there's an answer that's been posted before & carry on with your day? Why the need to start chipping in?
It's that that's baffled me. Why don't people just let it go & let others get on with it instead of grumbling?0 -

I don't propose to debate with you any further about forum threads which contributors aren't reading before posting in.0 -
So where is the Sky Dish then? is it a detached or terraced property?
What someone is a fan of, and what can be money saving in the short term can be different; If the OP sees a Body of responses that are along the same lines then it helps to validate those views as public opinions than just one persons thoughts.
Otherwise every thread should be closed after the first response, and alternative ideas discouraged..Moneyineptitude wrote: »A masterclass in replying to a thread without reading it!:D
Pretty clear from the diagram, Stu, and already answered earlier!:p0 -
See what is the point in that? I thought perhaps you were actually alright & different from the rest but maybe not.Moneyineptitude wrote: »This thread will now just die.

First off you say you're not replying any more ......... and then you keep replying.
Then i ask you a genuine question & you choose to respond but not answer.
As said, the sky dish is at the front of the house directly between the master bedroom & living room as you look at it from the front of the house. It's also a semi which i failed to mention. So where is the Sky Dish then? is it a detached or terraced property?

As for your remaining post - i totally agree. Many times i have asked a question & been given an answer & i think ok brilliant, only for 10 people to all then come in later on & say hang on reply number 1, you're totally incorrect & sometimes dangerous/costly etc.
I agree, a decent flow of confirmation, saying the same thing can give the OP confidence that the responses are good. Of course it can go too far & 20 pages saying this is correct is a bit OTT, but a decent flow is fine in my eyes.0 -
If I reply to a thread with a post agreeing with an earlier post, I'll always acknowledge said post as a matter of politeness.
Otherwise duplicating an earlier post just gives the impression that the thread has not been read.0
