Boots Sunglasses Problems

Bear with me, this is a vent and a question...
I bought some Orla Keily prescription sunglasses on March 5th for my holiday on March 17th from Boots costing £119 (a birthday and holiday treat).
Firstly they were delivered to store with nearly clear lenses (assistant ordered the wrong tint). So I asked them to retint them to match the sample pair.
I had to use contact lenses and normal sunglasses whilst on holiday as they could not return them in time, Boots kindly covered the cost of the contacts whilst I was away
When I returned today to collect them, they were still not right, half tinted and half clear! They looked ridiculous :rotfl:
So they have reordered again, to match the sample pair.
However, when I was in store today the assistant and I noticed they don't actually fit in their box. The box is not designed to accommodate prescription glasses  Apparently if they were non-prescription they would not be as curved and would fit. A big blooming design flaw!
So I am now stuck with expensive designer sunglasses with no posh box, two failed trips into town and over 3 hours wasted in a Boots store. (They took their time discussing why the tint had been wrongly ordered...twice).
So I'm after some perspective before I go back in a weeks time...
I can't decide whether to just ask for a refund, would I be entitled to one or do I need to appeal to their good nature? I don't think it's unreasonable to expect the glasses to fit in their supplied box but not fitting in their box does not make the glasses 'unfit for purpose', only the box. Although the box is part of the package.
I certainly don't recommend Boots Opticians, even the manager checked it and didn't spot the error the second time!

If your only issue now is that they dont fit in the box, cant boots supply a box/case that they do fit in?0

They 'probably' can but it won't be the designer case for which I have paid and is included in the over inflated cost. It's like buying a ferarri but being provided with generic seat covers. It's not what you'd expect. If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0

Does that particular designer have glasses in their range that are a bigger size than the ones you have bought? If so, could Boots order a case to fit those to see if your glasses fit in them?0
-
Alternatively, could boots offer a part refund to cover the lack of a box?0

I will give them a call tomorrow and ask as that's a good idea. However they had several boxes and we tried them all. That's not to say they can't order one.If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -

I said the same as the other replys,(maybe not worded quite so well) about Boots offering a box that they do fit in!0 -
As Orla kiely is a very well known print designer, I'd be extremely unhappy if I didn't get the Orla kiely box I had expected to get.have you thought of contacting Orla kiely direct?0

You're right. Sorry... I'm not sure why I didn't process your response better.
I've spoken to customer services and have asked for a refund. Their manager is calling me back.
Apparently it's a known issue with prescription sunglasses, makes little difference as it wasn't known to me! So my option is a bag.... which I am sure will prevent the glasses from being crushed in my bag or by my son.
I've emailed orla keilly, I will update with their response. If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
I have a couple of pairs of decent sunglasses and wouldn't want them not to be in a box that doesn't fit and protect them. I would ask for a refund too and I hope they get it sorted for you.2017 wins = £1350
2016 wins = £125 (18 months off comps)
2015 wins = £6,460
2014 wins = £1,3500 -

I'm glad the consensus is that I'm not being unreasonable.
Boots customer services are very good but very slow.If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0
