Hello lovely DFWers - old timers and newbies. Happy Independence Day to anyone from across the pond :j

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Today I will do the following:

- send everyone off with pack ups
- do storecupboard dinner from the meal plan - tonight it is Tartiflette :D
- do a mystery shop
- do the banking, at the branch and online and update the spreadsheet
- quidco clicks
- not increase my debt in any way
- be positive

I hope everyone has a good day x

Well I have transfered part of my high APR credit card onto slightly lower APR credit cards - the aim is to get the high card cleared by christmas through overpaying and transferring to lower APRs.

I'll go do some quidco clicks too now.

    Hiya

    1) I'm going to walk to my one mobile client which is about a mile away even though I have use of my hubbies car today. It'll save a little bit of petrol and help me with my new healthy living.

2)I've also still given up diet coke (5 days now) and used to drink between a can and two litres of the stuff a day so that's a bit more saving).

3)I'm going to pay in some more coppers that i've bagged - £16 and that will come straight of the morgage.

4)Will do all my clicks and any surveys emailed to me.

    xx

Hello! Can I be cheeky and add something from yesterday? It's only because I'm dead pleased with myself.....

When I'm feeling down I sympathy shop, so yesterday I had to go into town to pay in a business cheque. I usually have a look in Wooly's and New Look, and more times than not I purchase something which "I just have to have". Well, as per usual I popped into those two shops in question, browsing through the sales stuff but suddenly I thought to myself "NO NO NO NO NO (bit like the rehab song!!), you don't have any money to buy stuff which you really don't need" - So I walked out, got in the car and came home....... What a lovely feeling!

Sorry!!! Back to today...... I will do my pigsback clicks, work out the budget for the month and have a cheque to pay in for extra work done!
    October make £10/day currently £11.02
  • Wow, well done Avo! I had a moment like that last week when I went to Lakeside and only spent 8 quid, it's a lovely feeling isn't it!

Today I have recieved my pin for my amex cashback card that'll be coming in soon. Also cancelled my Experian membership, saving £6 a month (had completely forgotten about it, eek), and ebay-ing things later on, and working an extra shift at work tonight. Woooo!:T

    Hi hypno, hi all. Today:
    - done my finance practice.
    - done some clicks for the first time in ages. Supposed to have done some over the weekend, and didn't so started on those....
    - did the car insurance thing in Martin's email, for the Tesco points, and got them, so v pleased about that - with the various wheezes I've discovered on here, I almost have enough for a Eurostar ticket to visit friends.
    - possibly another few clicks while I'm doing other stuff on the computer - yep, I did qute a few.
    - there's a letter I need to do, will do that - oops, didn't.
    - just spent ages doing loads of surveys from my inbox. Quite pleased with that!

    Have a good day all!
