in Water bills
Hi my uncle has just brought his 3 bedroom house with a family of 4 from the council and just got a bill from Affinity Waters for £350 for 1 whole years supply.
They are charging him £182 for Clean water on an non-metered charge and also £172 for a Sewerage charge.
does his bill look ok or does he need to get a water meter installed ?
(I read the faqs/some post here- feels scary some folk are paying so much more!)

Unless they use very little water each, I don't think 4 people are likely to use less than £350 worth of metered water. Although obviously this depends how much the water is per unit. The average for 4 people is supposedly approx. 220 units, so if you can find out the unit price for your area, that should give you an idea. For example, where I live it is just over £2 a unit, which would cost around £450 a year, making the £350 unmetered option cheaper.0

As said above, £350 a year for unlimited water sounds like a bargain.
I'm in the Anglia region and its at least £500 for unmetered. Which equates to about 120 cu.m on a meter. This is just over the estimate for tow people. A family of four would be a lot closer to 200-250cu.m
Have a look at your water co's website where it will have all the tariffs for you to do your own sums, but I'd suspect that you are on the best deal at the moment
A 10 litre bucket full of the stuff (including sewerage) costs about the same as 1kwh of gasNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Looks cheap to me.0
