Can Under 18s and those with poor credit history get contactless cards?

With all due respect getting your credit rating sorted out she be the priority rather than getting a contactless debit card. I have contactless
cards and struggle to see why so many people aspire to have them.
Contactless transactions take longer to show on your account so it could make it harder to keep close tabs on your spending. All the best.
I wasn't asking for me - i already have 3 CPCs thanks!
I assume you aren't a Londoner?
In London TfL are pushing CPC and are even phasing out cash fares on the buses! I was making an article about the folly of cashless buses and wanted to know if I was right in saying that poorer Londoners/those with poor credit histories wouldn't be able to get CPCs0 -
I suspect that those cards may be only availble on non cash accounts.
It's certainitly not adverised on their website.

I'm yet to see a post from someone with a Barclays cash account with a contactless debit card unless you can direct us to one.
Online ones are available however it's establishing which account types they are availble on.
You should check this thread someone with a Barclays Cash Card account was sent an online debit card which has contactless on it!!!

They are enhancing Santander Select and part of the pack included a black Contactless MasterCard Debit.reclusive46 wrote: »Interestingly there was a new Santander UK Debit MasterCard BIN released a little while ago so they may be switching to Debit MasterCard (which they've already done in the US and Spain). This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Interestingly there was a new Santander UK Debit MasterCard BIN released a little while ago so they may be switching to Debit MasterCard (which they've already done in the US and Spain). MasterCard has been a big proponent of having contactless for everyone, hence why Metrobank issue both online and offline contactless cards.
Santander and any other major bank will NOT give customers contactless with poor credit history's. The whole point of contactless is for it to be super quick not to stand and wait for a transaction to be authorised. Also contactless is integrated in some vending machines and I sincerely doubt that a vending machine would have the capability to authorise a persons transaction. And as for Barclays they still to this day don't give contactless on basic accounts and sincerely doubt that Santander will be giving them to all customers when they are one of the last banks in the UK to issue them. I seriously don't know why people want one so bad its a piece of plastic weather its offline or online personally I have 2 credit cards which are contactless and the only place in northern Ireland that takes them seems to be McDonalds and people that have contactless cards usually use their pin anyway. If you want the excitement of tapping a card I suggest you get yourself a bus pass :rotfl:0 -

In London, contactless is used in quite a lot of high-street locations, and in a few months, can be used as a bus pass, and on trains just like Oyster. Also, Lloyds new cash machines are contactless enabled, for when they decide to use that in the future.
I'm sorry Northern Ireland are lacking in 21st century technology. Enjoy your bus pass.

When I lived in Spain my La Caxia branch had a contactless cash machine but it only lets you withdraw 20 euros using it. At 19 years of age I like to get drunk at the weekend so not much fun there haha
