Can Under 18s and those with poor credit history get contactless cards?

Out of curiosity are CPCs be available for basic account holders and under 18s?
Are CPCs effectively credit checked? I doubt that Aqua or Vanquis will embrace CPC anytime soon!
I know that with CPC it's much easier for someone to go into an unauthorised OD as the all CPCs are offline

Barclays issue 'online' Contactless debit cards for those who do not meet the credit check requirements for a full offline debit card. The only time these cards will work without connecting to the bank, is when used with Transport For London. Likewise, some 'pre-paid' cards have Contactless, and will connect to the bank each time.
All other major banks I believe only issue Contactless cards if you meet the requirements for a full debit card.
Companies like Aqua and Vanquis I doubt would introduce Contactless, mainly due to the cost factors. These companies don't even have mobile apps.0 -

I think Barclays are the only bank that issue online contactless cards at the moment attached to a bank account.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0

I think Santander will be issuing contactless cards for everyone once they start the roll out. On their systems it shows up as Contactless MFC card - DO NOT USE and Contactless Full auth MFC - DO NOT USE (contactless Full auth MFC youth is also there).
Interestingly there was a new Santander UK Debit MasterCard BIN released a little while ago so they may be switching to Debit MasterCard (which they've already done in the US and Spain). MasterCard has been a big proponent of having contactless for everyone, hence why Metrobank issue both online and offline contactless cards.0 -

With all due respect getting your credit rating sorted out should be the priority rather than getting a contactless debit card. I have contactless
cards and struggle to see why so many people aspire to have them.
Contactless transactions take longer to show on your account so it could make it harder to keep close tabs on your spending. All the best.Money is a wise mans religion0 -
? Do you mean attached to a basic bank account?
As said previously an "online contactless" debit card attached to a bank account.
I'm not aware that of anyone having a contactless card attached to a basic bank account even with Barclays.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

I'm yet to see a post from someone with a Barclays cash account with a contactless debit card unless you can direct us to one.
Online ones are available however it's establishing which account types they are availble on.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0
