BSG/Roxburghe/Gladstones

Hi All,

Approx October of last year my partner received a parking fine letter for parking in a Burger King car park in Havant and leaving the site. Having previously ignored a fine and it gone away I wrongly advised her to do the same, she recieved a 'debt collector' letter from Roxburghe which also was ignored.

She has now recieved a letter from Gladstones Solicitors stating that she now owes not only the £160 fine but also £162.50 in addition charges inc a £70 warrant issue. It states the client 'BSG Car park management ltd' May now instruct them to take legal action in the county court. To prevent this action she is invited to call and pay Roxburghe. It threatens that if judgement is registered against her it could seriously affect credit ratings.

She is now very concerned about court action and this credit threat. This has led me to finding some similar threads on here but always where appeals have been lodged early on. As I wrongly advised her to ignore I am worried we will be forced to pay.

I would hugely appreciate any advice that any of you can offer me.

Many thanks in advance.

Moffat

You need to read the Newbies thread at the top of the forum right now - it will outline your available options.

This is not going to happen! Can you tell me who gladstones is acting for is it roxburghe or the parking company? This letter is from roxburghe who are using headed paper from gladstones. They basically prostitute themselves for money. Now please read the sticky thread mentioned and educate yourself on this scam

  • Thank you for replies, greatly appreciated. They say the client is BSG but to avoid county court action we should call Roxburge to confirm proposals in respect of this parking charge. Reading the newbies thread it seems I should appeal to BSG and then write to Roxburge and Gladstones?
  • This is a rent debt type letter from Gladstones seen many times recently

Follow the advice on this thread - changing the name of the Parking company to suit.

Thought Roxburge had had their credit licence revoked ?
If so what are they doing still "At it"

Probably best to reply to this with Daisy's reply to such companies, simply because they say they are acting for the parking company instead of the debt collectors. Though this company have not done court at all ever, so ignore is still an option. Its to be determined which is riskier, putting your head above the parapet or not

They have appealed the decision, so no revocation of licence just yet. Continuing to wreak havoc amongst the naive.

No doubt they're examining a Phoenix rising strategy for the future.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

It's very rare but BSG are taking someone to court who ignored them, I helped with their initial defence recently. So I say, Moffat15 don't panic but do the 'robust response' option as per the links in the NEWBIES thread where I talk about 'too late to appeal?'.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Interesting as BSG is not on the list who has issued claims to October last year. Think another foi is needed to take in this six month period.
