    I really think the whole anti-virus market is bit of a con as well as Microsoft's offering there are free alternatives available from third parties. In shops we get told they are poor and you must buy a anti-virus (these are the same people that tell you need that £90 HDMI for your new BD player.)

    There also seems to a lot of people that say you need security software for windows or android but the magical Apple products don't as it impossible for them to ever have a security flaw.

    The anti-virus is the last line of defense after everything else fails. The first is your own behavior not to do anything stupid and always run as a limited user.
