carphone warehouse
After being told at two branches of Carphone Warehouse that my Samsung Galaxy mobile would not be repaired as I'd had it longer than six months, it sat in a box for the next seven months until a friend mentioned having a similar fault with hers. I accompanied her to yet another branch where I was immediately told ALL Samsung phones carry a two year warranty. The phone was fixed and returned within a week. I contacted their HQ to explain that not only have I 'lost' seven month's warranty, my husband has being paying £17.99 (phone came with a Samsung Galaxy tablet) per month for a phone I couldn't use. They were very quick to respond, and have offered two months free as a goodwill gesture. I don't see what choice I have but to accept. Any advice, please?

The Samsung warranty is a separate limited warranty to your standard SOGA warranty from CPW .
Odd that they said it would not be repaired as the usual question is will you replace answer no we will repair as per SOGA .
Either take the offer or take them to court but this really sounds like someone misunderstood .0 -
In fact CPW offer their own warranties unrelated to manufacturers' warranties.
It's the same 24 months for Samsung: http://selfhelp.carphonewarehouse.com/SelfHelp/request.do?view%28%29=c{79ae2a80-f9f3-11de-da00-000000000000}
That said, one must be very naive not to check the manufacturer's warranty, to know nothing about SoGA and to rely entirely on the words of two idiots from CPW.0 -
I would never take the word of what retail staff in a mobile shop say. They have no training on consumer law or contract law. You'll have to be on your guard when in there, they are under pressure to sell sell sell for nothing in return.0

Why didn't you just take the Sim out of the Galaxy phone and use it in another phone?0
