TalkTalk Business: read the small print

A year ago I cancelled my domain hosting with TalkTalk and thought that would end my contract. Unfortunately, no. Evidently cancelling this was not enough, I should have explicitly cancelled my email hosting at the same time. So even though I wouldn't have been able to use the service (since my domain and associated email address was elsewhere), I've been charged £32.40 for the priviledge. I didn't receive any invoice, just a letter telling me about the overdue balance (which includes a £3 charge because I no longer have a direct debit mandate with them). I was also informed that I have to give a month's notice so I assume I can expect a further charge for my no existent service.

I've come to the conclusion this is my fault for not paying better attention when cancelling the domain hosting, but I thought I'd share my experience so that others won't get duped in the same way.
