Pre oct 2012 ticket advice please!

Hi, firstly let me say I have read the advice for newbies, but I hope you all appreciate there is an awful lot to wade through to get to the facts that apply for each person's case. The ticket which has been issued to a vehicle registered in my name was for an offence in September 2012. Up to this point all correspondence has been ignored , it is now at the famous 'Rossendale' stage....Quick question...does the advice to newbies (write to debt collectors and Parking Company disputing fine) apply or does the fact its pre Oct 2012 mean it should be ignored. I have noticed differing advice on these older tickets some stating ignore and some not?
Thanks for reading, hope you can help!

Continue ignoring them. Keeper liability did not exist prior to the Protection of Freedoms of Act 2012 came into force in October 2012.0

and this means that as registered keeper I do not have to provide them with details of who was driving at the time, so if it did end up in court, they wouldn't have a leg to stand on?Continue ignoring them. Correct? Hope so...0 -
That is correct. They could only enforce against the driver. So even if they did take the matter to court, can you reasonably be expected to remember who was driving your on what days in 2012?
They have 6 years to bring a claim before the court. You will probably hear from them periodically as they hope to 'scare' some people into paying. The payoff is worth the price of a letter and postage.0 -

At least 3 more today alone on the first page or two here. All easily found with a search of this forum for the keyword 'Rossendales' which would also find all the threads about the zillions of other times that they have sent out a batch of threatogram letters on old cases. Nothing to worry about.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
