Parking Ticket issued in June 2012, now Rossendales Collect have written to me.

A parking charge notice was posted to me in June 2012 for a car registered in my name but not driven by me. As per the advice on this site at the time, I ignored all correspondence from the Company concerned (I've thrown it all out now and have no idea who originally contacted me). Today, I've received a letter from Rossendales Collect saying the debt has been passed to them and I need to respond in 7 days.

As these seem to be a genuine Debt Recovery Agency, I'm a little more concerned as to what my next move should be. I've tried reading the advice for newbies but it seems to relate to the newer POPLA rules. So now I'm a bit lost as to what I should do, given the time lag between the original ticket being issued, the change in legislation and the letter received today.

All help and advice most gratefully received.

Ignore them, there is no keeper liability prior to October 2012, so they can only write to you with these demands. Who was the parking company, it should be on the letter from them ?
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

You're confusing me with someone else as I haven't posted on Facebook about this.

Thank you. Unfortunately I've shredded all the other letters relating to this and can't remember who the original invoice was from :o
If necessary I may have to resort to Google maps to see if I can see the signs in the car park concerned :D

Indeed :) I wasn't even aware of the MSE Facebook page, so will have to seek it out now :money:

Same as above, you have been ignoring them, and thats the path you are on.
however you should keep all correspondence somewhere safe.

If you want to put a stop to it all ( and avoid the risk of something happening between now and 2018 should the ppc start getting litigious al! parking eye/CEL) then you may be able to get in touch with the car park owner and complain to them.

I shall certainly hang on to any more letters I receive now. It was only this Christmas I shredded the other letters too after not hearing anything from them for 12 months!
