So the OP shouldn't consider sending a "cease and desist" letter should Rossendales continue on their (futile and possibly illegal) correspondence chain?0

For a pre-POFA case then no contact whatsoever is the best course of action.0

How can they attempt to collect an alleged debt without identifying the creditor ? Surely a complaint to the oft is needed in this case as it's an unfair process. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Apologies for being fallible.
I appreciate your advice to "search the forum" but when the results that come up are written from a different perspective (they're the driver, I'm the registered keeper and wasn't even in the same County as the car), then unless a person already has a sound understanding of the legislation, how can we be expected to apply it to our personal circumstances?
I posted to ask for advice and am very grateful to those who gave it without making me feel like a nuisance.0 -
There is no legislation as such, as regards a pre-POFA fake PCN. I wanted you to see that other people have got that Rossendales letter today too; every so often debt collectors send out batches of threatograms to scrape the barrel on old unpaid fake PCNs. So any other Rossendales thread is relevant really.
Here's another one, coming along like buses today. My apologies for being a bit of a mardy moo, I didn't mean it, just got fed up with the same thing 4 times:

All similar to your case, no different really. It's junk mail.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you for the longer explanation Coupon-mad, it is appreciated and I do understand it must be frustrating to keep repeating similar advice to different posters.
This is my first encounter with any of the PPC's so it's all been rather alarming. Thanks to the advice given on this board I feel much more confident in the choices I've made so far.0 -
Hi
Please HELP I'm a little confused, did read NEWBIES but unsure what to do next
Parked and Paid in full at VCS car park, couldn't and didn't enter vehicle reg. (Reading previous threads THIS CAR PARK SEEMS TO BE NOTORIOUS FOR THIS SCAM):mad::mad::mad:
I Received fake PCN, Appealed, and funnily not surprised that was denied because they checked and their payment machines seemed to be in working order that day!
Wrote back stating that i DID NOT accept their INVOICE.
Not heard a thing for a while and low and behold last week received a letter from their debt collectors - ROSSENDALES!!
Apparently the Debt now stands at £126
I have just Spoke to BPA, who have asked for all my info (as this was pre-poppla) so they can investigate if any of the T/Cs have been breached. BUT and it is a BiG BUT they cannot get involved with the PCN.
I would appreciate any advice from you guys of what to say or do next
I'm so annoyed that they are happy to take payment but think they can fine you for not entering your reg.....contract or no contract....there is no financial loss!!! How do they get away with it.

Calm down and just ask a question on your thread from 2012, not here, this is mtbbuxton's thread you have hijacked out of the blue. Here's yours:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4173303
But you've surely read the advice on this thread already. Nothing to add really, search the parking forum (ONLY, not the whole MSE forums) for Rossendales.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
