Good afternoon all....
I have been MIA for the last few days ...but im on my way back now.....
Boys getting better from chicken pox....new conservatory frame went in yesterday and Monday and now just have sooo much dust...need a glitch on cleaning stuff please....
still a long way from feeling that the house is ours again as we have had a plasterer pull out at the last min and cant find one to render the inside of the conservatory whos free to start work for a few months....
What started as the collapse of the old conservatory with the christmas gales looks like its going to take until next christmas to sort out....
Any glitches that spring to mind or jump out?....
I have had the realisation over the past few days that I am indeed a hoarder and there is a lot of stuff in our house that simply does not justify being here....so it is a more streamlined approch to life that I now need to take before it really gets out of hand....or we atleast need to use up current stock levels before new things are bought.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -

Once/if you get it it is a lot more than a few pounds over the weeks, many of us are still using free fabric conditioner from about 2 years ago as an example and there are many many more examples
Yup :Trhosynbach wrote: »Nenen believe me the elite make a massive difference to the amount I spend every week, my shopping bill has halved and we have better food and very full cupboards. my dds dont live at home and we also treat them with bags of goodies. At first it takes a while to get in the swing of things but eventually it takes less time but it is defiantly worth it.
plus I have made some good friends and have lots of fun x
and with regard the familys comments I gave up explaining to mine, just let them enjoy the fruits of the elites labour..Mumto2monkeys wrote: »Nenen
No it's not just you, I've tried explaining it to my mum and sis, they just glaze over and think I'm mad even though they moan about how much things cost. My sis was struggling a few months ago, 2 little ones to feed, hubby out of work, I offered to take her shopping, told her to send me her list and I'd sort it out for a comparison shop... Not interested:eek:
As for my hubby, he doesn't come shopping with me because he gets annoyed that I scan anything he picks up and puts in the trolley, he appreciates that I am trying to save us money but every now and again he has a go at me for spending so much time compairing shopping and writing lists etc so now I do it on my phone in the bath!!
I guess it's finding a balance, you can't let the addiction of shopping take over, quality time together is as important as making ends meet.
I hope you find the balance:)
Don't bother explaining glitches to family, they don't get it. I've given up now. And OH's are not such a fan of them being explained either
And re: shopping lists - I always have a list on the fridge door and write as i go along. Stick to a list so you aren't tempted in the shop. then half an hour before you go to T, quickly go on MyS and type in every item on your list. I then have an A/T/ S price and do whichever shop works best/cheapest. If i don't find deals or buy my biscuits/salad cream etc that week, it rolls over onto next week's list. My lists are so much quicker that way..
you'll get there but it does take time.Tiger
