Did the forum go down for a few minutes for anyone else?

I had a problem posting - I was waiting for ages, and then it finally posted but with the quote surrounded by "[QUOTE...]" etc. and not the usual box that you could click back to view the original. I assumed the forum had gone offline for a moment. I've since put the quote right in my post.

You're doing it the right way.

I was a teenager when I was first pregnant, and had 5 kids in my care when I was 24/25. I remember when we first lived together paying the bills and having £15 to survive on for the month. I never bought anything new until my third, when I bought a pack of vests!! Last of the big spenders! Whilst, I would not change a thing, I would never recommend this life for anyone, and would not want my kids to live the same life.

I love the idea that you have planned and worked things out, enjoy x

:) bet it's made you a strong person though, and you should be proud and your kids even prouder of you :). We hardly ever buy anything new everything it is either from carboot sales or charity shops and if it is new it's in sales at rock bottom prices, and when it comes to having kids it will be the same theres a few things that I would buy new like car seats and and bottle teets but that's about it, It's childcare/loss of income that's going to be a challenge. I think it's when they are older they cost more but I have no experience whatsoever so am probably in for a shock but they certainly wont be having a baby wardrobe, they can have a normal one and like it :rotfl:!

I did actually start looking last week but didn't mention it. ;) :rotfl:

It was the only one I could find with the split shelf in the door that I like so hopefully I have made the right choice.

I have had this one for years (now used as a 'second').

From memory, it holds about 240L. It's brilliant but I think that it's discontinued now.

    In an A v T shop (ie sal's) 10 yogs will cost £3 in A's and add 98p to the APG - so £2.02 for 10.

    In an A v S shop 10 yogs would cost £3 in A's and add 94p to the APG - so £2.06 for 10.

Evening all  still hours behind :o

Have you not bought any Belvita Chris?

Thats me just off the phone to sada, they have a glitch in their system online. If you go back and change an order your e vouchers vanish. She was able to add them back to my order (in fact rounded it up by 80p).
The only way this can be done is by phone.

I think the most APG shops I have done at one time (in one trolley) was 6 against 3 competitors, though quite a while ago - I wouldn't recommend it though as keeping track of which shop was against which (particularly after the landslide in the trolley ) was stressful :o.

I normally stick to four now in a big trolley - some suggest using hand baskets in your trolley to separate the shop.

Ah the hand-baskets inside the trolleys from the T DTD days!:rotfl::D That brings back memories. I haven't done my APG shopping like that though, but I think it's that I've varied things as I've got older - may try and do that basket thing again some time.:T

Sound advice IMO. I already have a mortgage and hopefully with all the tips and tricks on this site I will have paid it off very soon!:D So I really don't care about getting any anytime soon - and as for credit, if it stops anyone lending to me and doubtless paying them huge charges, it's got to be a good thing! (Sadly I'm not disciplined enough to do stoozing.) One additional thing though - don't always transfer the minimum over to meet each account's 'trigger': sometimes different amounts a bit above that are more convenient:D.

I don't have any credit cards. I know about the stoozing thing and it's not lack of bravery that stops me, I just don't feel the need.

In my early 20s, when I got my first job I got in a proper mess with credit cards. I was young, stupid and landed a really well paid job when I left uni. I had no kids and properly lived it up :o.....way beyond my means!! Holidays, parties, designer clothes, fancy furniture.......:o:o I had several credit cards and maxed them all out until I couldn't max anymore :o

I was fortunate. My dear Dad baled me out, bless him :A Ive never had a credit card since and have never felt the need to. I don't worry at all that I'd do the same again, I know Ive grown up since then and grew some sense :D

See my post UP, just off the phone to them, it took me half an hour to get through though. They are having problems with the site.
