You will only be entitled to one introductory rate or offer (where applicable) on a Nationwide Group current account product. So - seems you have to be away for a year:(. Time to be getting the other (new) accounts from the other banks, ready to close them a year down the line, when you can return to Nationwide (assuming the FD interest rate is then still a good offer).
Thank you, bang goes that plan! I will just have to see if any new switching bonuses pop up to close this one then. Post Office have been offering a £100 one4all voucher in East England (soon to roll out elsewhere?) and M&S are apparently launching a new account in the summer.
The other NW was kindly closed by Coop for the £100 switching bonus (plus £25 for a charity off their list of your choice).

Could we swap jobs?:rotfl:;) Your fear is my reason for being. I'm happy even if every week is the same. Variety for me is definitely not the spice of life. As little variation as possible please. That said, yeah, a change every so often (albeit for me planned, announced and adapted to well in advance) is a good thing. I can see that people would get bored with just doing the same day (or night) job again and again. (A lot of jobs are repetitive though.) It's just, for me, I can last a lot longer just doing the same work all day. (I can also move from one job to another, just that the transitions, for me, are more abrupt than the 'ordinary' person and, to be fair, it's not where I work best.)
I like a 'bit of everything' - but switched onto over time, and not abrupt from one to the other but I know that's where others cope best (because, for you, you don't feel the abruptness that such a situation feels to me). I can happily sit there all day just working on the same thing, nice, getting on with work feeling relaxing, as little interaction or input from others as possible(slightly :rotfl:), self-directed. But I know that's not everyone's (or even most people's) cup of tea.
[Edit - oh no, I'm talking too much about myself in this post:o, sorry folks, I must empathise - as is demonstrated forcefully now by me feeling the need to have to add this edit. If I hadn't been empathising or feeling/understanding for anyone, why, I wonder, would I have seen the need to do so?]:A0 -

Sadly they'd thought of it:(:(. Nice try though:A.0 -
:oSo I'll leave you in the capable hands of fairclaire.
 There's bound to be the slight obstacle in the way as well, to be sorted out, to stop my plans being thwarted regarding the bank account switches, but I'll have it sorted as best I can! (Eh...it's never total plain-sailing anywhere is it? And who would ever expect that? Answer: me, twenty years ago:(:(:rotfl:.)
Best to you as well, all!

How do you get that ? Surely 5% on £2500 is £125 per year before tax and that's only just over £10 per month and I thought you could only have one account.
You can have 4 NW accounts, though they will only pay 5% on one.
They were paying 5% on all four but eventually caught up with those who had four at 5%. Lucky for me it took them 11 months to catch up with meso i only lost out on 1 month
.
They now have stricter policies in force to prevent this.0
