Thompson & Morgan I take my hat off to you. You know MKS I am sure their marketing department would only be too happy to send you a bunch of leaflets/vouchers and /or other promo material for the mammys at the school.

Thanks, Patty. They have already intimated that at a follow up :D The only thing that they have requested (not insisted) is that we let the schools know that they have donated the seeds. I think that's fair enough.

Anyone here have a Barclaycard World Mastercard that replaced their Egg Money? As you may know from letters a month or so ago, they are changing us to Amex and a Visa card (so 2 cards) from June. A downside is a cut in the Cashback and reduced benefits. Over on another thread they did a bit of investigating and found that by complaining (online secure messaging is easiest in your Bcard account) you can force their hand and get upto a £50 account credit as a goodwill payment and double Cashback for 6 months :j.

I only spotted it at the end of this week, complained by secure message, got a phone call this weekend (within 24 hours) which seemed quite "scripted". They apologised, offered double Cashback for 6 months and £25 compensation as a goodwill gesture. I said I was happy with the Cashback but disappointed with their offer of £25 due to loss of benefits and was aware friends have received £50. He went off to speak to his manager, result £50 account credit .

    I heard a call......

    :rotfl:

Nationwide FlexDirect pays 5% on balances of up to £2500.

TSB Classic Plus pays 5% on balances of up to £2000 (you can have 2 accounts).

    So that's £6500 sorted @ 5%.

    :D

    Enjoy.

Thank you ! If my wine soaked brain is not totally addled do I understand that I need to open a Nationwide Flex account with £2500 , set up a standing order on my First Direct account to pay in £1000 every month and another standing order to transfer £1000 back into my First Direct acoount a few days later ? Effectively the same £1000 cycles between the 2 accounts and I get 5% on the original £2500. Or am I completely daft ?

    Correct!

In fact, you could do the standing orders on the same day....so you maximise the interest.

Also, the good thing about the TSB accounts is that you can set up SOs for £500 between both accounts and be eligible for 5% interest.

I was holding out to see if any Cashback offers appear on Lloyds and TSB before taking the plunge - has anyone spotted any please?

    Many thanks
