The Mars Easter Egg is still showing as £6 on MSM for A (not instore?) and £3.50 in S so may be of interest for C and C? Not as good as the at offer

I'd be really grateful for some information regarding how Tesco work out their multibuy discounts.
In particular, Tesco are currently running a 'buy three get the cheapest one free' on many home baking products (flour, yeast, dried fruit, nuts etc). The products in the offer range in price from under a pound to £3.99.
If I buy a selection of 24 different products in this deal (i.e. pay for 16 and get 8 free) will Tesco:
a) do what Boots does and match the most expensive three products first giving me the third most expensive free, then sort the next three dearest items giving me the cheapest of these free and so on,
or
b) sort the 24 items dearest to cheapest and give me the 8 cheapest free?
Any information from any knowledgeable Elite gratefully received.
PS - I used to think I was reasonably intelligent until I stumbled onto the Elite board- now I feel increasingly confused and anxious that I am not making the best shopping decisions.
I suppose it doesn't help that I am still suffering from vertigo:money: so finding it difficult to concentrate properly but I spent almost 3 hours in Tesco yesterday evening and still managed to come out without the burgers I went in for and with no clear idea whether or not I had bought the correct baking products to start making my own bread for the lowest possible price!
In the end I just reverted to the way I used to shop (I believe the term used by the Elite is a 'muggle shop') and threw stuff in my trolley.:eek::eek:
... so please may I introduce myself?

PD and other bakers can skip this part
When I was really struggling I used to make this with my Dd so might work around the vertigo problem as well
5 Min bread
700g value plain flour
7g yeast
300ml boiling water
2 tsp oil
1tsp sugar
1tsp salt
Mix the water, oil, sugar & salt in a jug and top up to 600ml with cold water
Mix flour and yeast in a bowl and pour in water mix
Stir with a fork until mix comes tog
Tip on to a floured surface and knead lightly for 2mins
Shape and place into a loaf tin and leave to rise and then bake
