The only accurate way is to check your usage in your router stats (if available) at a given time, then check again every week. The difference is your actual usage.
If you ONLY HAVE ONE DEVICE that uses your connection then TBBMeter or similar is fine; if there are multiple devices then it is pointless.0 -

Tell us which router you have and which ISP , generally the IP address of your router is 192.168.1.0 or 192.168.1.254 but the make is probably more important....4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . What is the point having a faster but data limited package!
The OP hasn't said it is a data limited package, just that they want to know how much has been downloaded (although I admit it's most likely that you'd want to do that if you do have a limit).
OP, why don't you just log on to your BT account and check on there how much you've downloaded?0 -
This is the direct link to view broadband usage (after you have logged in) ...
http://www.bt.com/appsyouraccount/usage/improvedBBUsage.do
... At least it is for me anyway (BT Infinity).
And remember broadband usage is not just download - it is upload as well.0 -

I asked on BT live chat about this and they said there was no way to do this and they gave me a link to thinkbroadband!
I just wanted to know if i was actually getting the benefit of being on unlimited download and also just wondered how much download/upload all my devices use because there are lots of things in the house that use the internet0 -

Thanks mate, i did ask BT if there was anyway to view my usage in my account but they said no!
I've saved that link now and currently this month i've downloaded 120 GB of data...lucky im on unlimited then!0 -
You can get your readings if you are signed up for My Bt. One of the things you get is broadband and phone usage on a daily basis.
I have just got Infinity and overall am pleased but there are a few puzzling things.
My WifI adapter goes up to 100 Mbps but I have never seen it at that speed.
Previously my Home Hub 3 used to connect at 65 Mbps the Home Hub 5 never gets me above 58Mbps , a curious number.
I have manually set the channel as on Smart Wireless it was even lower between 29 and 43.
Generally my download is around 30 Megs and uploads always around 15-16 Megs.
Skype is brilliant and real HD quality sessions.
My Ipad works even better but the OOKla speed tester fails about 90% of the time, when it does work download is 44 Megs upload 16.
Try as I might by deleting and reinstalling the OOKla speed tester just freezes.
I have reported to OOKLA and they said I must update Flash Player.....Uhhhhh...Flash does not work on Ipads, so much for their support knowledge.
Do I need the new BT Dongle instead of my current adapter to get better wireless on the desktop ?
Does anyone know of a good Ipad app that gives accurate readings in place of the failing OOKla app ?
Thanks0
