Were they Lorne sausages by any chance?

Heron's in North Shields have Bird's Eye Hake in cheese and leek sauce at £2.50 for two which is nice. They had the fish in chilli and lime recently for £1.50 for two but I haven't seen it for a few weeks now.

Their Thick and Creamy yogurts are the same as Lidl's (in different packaging) and are around the same price.

Lorne isn't a brand it's a type of sausage. Square patty instead of links :D

Oh right :) In that case I think they might well be Lornes - never heard of that before.

Heron's have done Lorne sausage for years, it is a name for generic square sausage.
I was in Heron yesterday for my regular mooch - they had Perle de Lait Coconut yogurt four packs at 3 for £1.20 or 50p each.
Also a litre of pomegranate juice, 2 for £1, 60p each.
After Eight dessert two-packs were 60p. (Very rich, just had one.)
I noticed some small-ish frozen ducks for £5.99, if anyone fancies duck for Easter.
Butterkist toffee popcorn, 2 200g bags for £1 (the packs featured an expired competition, long use - by - date).
Kingsmill crumpets (6 to a pack) are seemingly always on offer at two packs for £1.
Thanks for spotting the Oreos, PinkTiger, will have to look out for those!

I shop in Heron's a lot..tried a pack of their sliced corned beef, it looked really lean, but only the top slice was, underneath very fatty slices.

Thanks BB. I was in Heron earlier in the week, spotted:

250g tubs of genuine Italian ricotta cheese for 75p (used this in baking and it was really good quality).

I got a four pack of Muller's Rice Rice Baby choc n caramel for £1.20.

Four Xcell king prawn and lemongrass fishcakes (600g weight) for £1.25
(Sainsbob's do Taste the Difference fishcakes of the same name at 2 for £2.99)

Benecol fruit yogurts are 4 for 60p

Bird's Eye Rice Fusions and Veg Fusions are 2 for £2

Bird's Eye Country Mix frozen veg 400g for 70p

Simply Great Pomegranate Juice 1 litre 60p 2 for £1

Utterly Butterly Lightly and I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Light were both £1 for 500g.

Plus all the usual Heron suspects - low cost cheese, cold meats, pies, pastries, cereals, crisps, squash, carbonated drinks, biscuits and cakes.

Farmfoods are really good for quorn products. Also lots of their veg is great value. They have spinach and mushy peas much cheaper than anywhere else. Their loo roll always gets good reviews.
