CPU fan advice needed.

If you're feeling adventurous you could always remove the fan from the CPU and possibly remove the fan blade from the housing.
I had a case cooling fan that made a rattling noise a while ago, the fan was held in place by means of a plastic washer, almost like a circlip. Once the fan was removed from the housing I gave it a good clean with some spirits and then lightly greased the fan shaft before reinserting it into the fan housing. Never had any issues since.
The instructions from the following link are very similar to what I did:

Some people or websites will mention to use a drop of oil on the fan shaft, depending on the oil and the amount of oil used it can be a bad idea as dust will cling to the oil.0 -
I think the OP isn't that adventurous
If the fan rattles when the PC is powered on then settles down, highly likely it's the bearings beginning to go. If that's the case, the noise is probably going to get worse, and take longer to settle down, until it stops working.
If you're having second thoughts about the Arctic, try this one from Akasa

Thank you cookie365, I've had a look at this Akasa and it looks like a good alternative
Just got to commit to buying one now and then beg / plead for someone to fit it for me, lol
(Have watched several youtube videos but I'm nowhere near confident at doing it myself - was scary enough taking off the side panel!)It's nice to be important.....but it's more important to be nice0
