Call credit won't do financial disassociation!

Hi, wondered if anyone can advise me here. I divorced my husband two years ago and applied for disassociation from him as he was declared bankrupt in 2009. Equifax and Experian agreed it but Callcredit said no as we had a link made by a building society in 2007 for a loan app which we ended up not taking out. It's still showing now, 7 years later! Is there anything I can do about this? Thanks

Idiots! Tell them that as all your shared financial commitments have ended you are entitled to be dissociated. An non completed application is not enough to maintain an association and they should not be refusing it because of that. Tell them that if they don't remove the association you will be taking them to the FOS and reporting them to the ICO.

Thank you so much for your reply. I am going to contact them again today and tell them if they refuse to disassociate I will be doing what you suggested above :)

Are you sure? Associations are for accounts not credit applications, did they advise why it remains?

Associations are often created by a joint loan application. For example, here's what M&S Bank say about loan applications...
Where a joint personal application is made a new financial association will be created and registered with the credit reference agency, if this does not already exist.

Note that it doesn't say 'successful' application...merely an application itself.

Hello. I really do not trust the information CallCredit handle.

As a very quick example. I was declined today for gas and electric from First Utility. They said it was because of information they received from CallCredit.

I stay at address 1047B xxx road.

3 years ago on my CallCredit report it showed an address link of 583B xxx Road. I have never stayed there. The credit report showed the source of the link was CALLCREDIT.

Today after my declined application, they have updated the source of the address link to show SANTANDER and LITTLEWOODS.

Now that is not what was there 3 years ago. And is simply incorrect. They only way to contact them is by letters to somewhere in Leeds.

When a supplier uses Equifax or Experian I have no problems getting finance. If the supplier is clueless enough to rely on the "third" credit reference agency then they are just as bad as CallCredit. Cheap, pointless and out of date!

Hi, I wasn't questioning them for making the initial association, I understand why it was made but just not why it still remains 7 years later to someone I'm now divorced from on an account that isn't even active. I've contacted the building society directly and asked them to correct it and they've agreed to investigate. I have to check back after 7 days so fingers crossed.

Btw I agree that the other two agencies seem to show people in a better light. According to them my file isn't too bad and is rated as fair as opposed to poor on call credit :/

Thanks to you all for your help :)
