I quit in 2000 with nicotine nasal spray but the trouble is NOW I am hooked on Nasal Spray. Any ideas as to how ro get out of the habit?? I use 2 bottles a month.
Try getting your Doctor to perscribe Glucose 25%in Glycerin nasal drops, that'll get you off the sprays, Hope it helps! :money:0 -
Hi all.
Has anyone had any success with Champix yet? Haven't gotten around to quitting this time yet but have tried pretty much all of the other options without any success over the years.
As a last ditch effert having used all the other stuff to be a none smoker.
Not had the success yet but am using Champix for 2 weeks now, (When the Doctor said he'll give this to try getting off the smoking, I could have sworn he said "I give you Tampax for that"). still having the cravings as well as the odd smoke then feel a fool because I know not smoking is best for me, no weezing deeper breathing etc. At least I'm not alone suffering.
What we none smoking wannabe's need is some REAL SUPPORT not the odd fool on here. e.g. One that brags he's been smoking for 6 years & gave up just like that within 3 days, so why can't you...
I'm off to bed now b4 I lite-up again.0 -
Cigarette Smoking May Accelerate Disability In Those With MS........
Cigarette smoke has many properties that are toxic to the central nervous system, and cigarette smoking has been linked to higher susceptibility and risk of progressive multiple sclerosis............
smokers had significantly higher disability scores and lower brain volume than the nonsmokers............
Smoking appears to influence the severity of MS and to accelerate brain atrophy and the disruption of the blood-brain barrier in MS patients,"My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

try reading Allen Carr's book (Easyway to stop smoking) it's very effective and much cheaper than the clinics, NRT, or any other STOP smoking NHS/Government method. It'll cost you around (£5-10) on ebay and will stop you smoking as soon as you finish reading it. It'll be the best investment you have ever made. ;-) (unless you started buying property about 10 years ago)0

I remember watching something on Richard and Judy about a year ago about a little electronic gizmo which effectivly reprogrammed your brain to no longer need nicotine and also meant that the other pitfalls associated with quitting were negated. Now they have a clinic in my Town (Blackpool) which offers this treatment at £250. I have heard extremely positive testimonials from people who my parents know who have made this investment. I was wondering if anyone had used this method of quitting (unfortunatly I can't remember it's name) and could offer an opinion as to it's effectiveness and the possible problems entailed with its use.
Is it worth the £250 investment? (I have tried patches, gum, sprays, lozenges, hypnotherapy and just about every other method which dosn't require a perscription and still cannot break my 40 a day habit)I Reject your reality and substitute my own.
When life gives you lemons, throw em back and say you want CASH instead!
