Well done on your win -- but I have to say, if you choose to completely block out twitter/facebook/rafflecopter then you're really limiting yourself. A majority of what I win is from facebook, twitter and the occasional blog... so if you would like to get a decent return your shouldn't limit your avenues. The more variety of competitions you enter, the better the chance. Good luck! Some best wins: £5,000 with hotels4u, 3D tv with ipad and sky for a year, another ipad, Hudl tablet, Sony z1 Xperia mobile, Spa break and £300 spa treatments, hotel chocolat hampers!0

I don't enter any Facebook, Twitter or rafflecopter but enter the rest that take my fancy.
Please pass on some of your luck as I don't want to lose this positive frame of mind.
Thanks x
I have got a bit the same to be honest. I have been a regular comper for nearly five years, at it most days. Only ever won once.
Hardly seems the effort - but i cant seem to stop myself hahaha:rotfl:The opposite of what you know...is also true0 -
Well done!0

Blurry hell Ska Lover, that's dedication. I hope it was a big win! :rotfl:
Annie, congrats on your first win!
I've been the opposite, I started comping in Feb and have won loads so far, I'm just waiting for the inevitable dry spell to hit. My boyfriend on the other hand has been doing the same, entering just as many and won nothing yet. I think he's starting to get peed off with my gloating
I track everything I win and most of them have been through Twitter and Facebook. I'd definitely consider entering these if you want more of a chance0 -
Exactly What Lina T Said. I did this as a hobby a few years ago. Won the odd small item. Then started again at the end of feb. Won 7 prizes already (cake, amazon voucher, resturant voucher, air freshener, we vibe, and cinema tickets) My boyfriend has been doing it the same amount of time and won nothing. So its partly the luck of the draw. Im sure soon i will hit a dry spell and his day will come. Like we all have said. Be in it to win it!
Completely agree, part of the fun is looking at the prize and imagining yourself on the ant and dec plane on the way to florida! or waiting for the gadget show truck to pull up outside your house!0 -
You guys that have only won a few times in several years etc -- just wondering how much you enter? I wouldn't be able to do this if I didn't win fairly regularly. But I do enter a lot and do still do FB/twitter/rafflecopter as well as all the big comps. Gives you the best possible chance -- it is harder than it was though, no doubt about that! Some best wins: £5,000 with hotels4u, 3D tv with ipad and sky for a year, another ipad, Hudl tablet, Sony z1 Xperia mobile, Spa break and £300 spa treatments, hotel chocolat hampers!0

I've never won anything from competing online, but I keep trying!!0

To the few who have comped for years and not won, then you must be entering very few comps a month.
To virtually guarantee a win per month you need to do at LEAST 100+ a day, average estimates atm are 1 win per 1000 entered, so if you do that each day per month thats 3000 so you 'should' get a win.
:beer:Still comping, after 2 heart attacks 4th feb & 6th feb, and a stent put in.. 45 years old only:eek:0 -

Well I agree to a point, I also disagree to a point.
I enter very few comps as I am selective and although not having such a good year this year, I have won some amazing prizes over the years. Saying that since I came over to MSE just over a year ago I am entering more comps now and my wins have gone right down!!
Only recently read of two ITV winners who were family members of compers and obviously the compers enter every single one of the ITV comps whereas the family member entered just once and won.
Winning a competition (with the exception of skill or voting) is down to one thing and one thing only. Luck.
You could enter 1000 comps and win nothing, you could enter one comp and win.
Yes the odds are obviously greater if you enter more but not necessarily always the case. The best things in life are free.....0 -

I probably only have time to enter 10-20 per day and I am very selective about what I enter, I haven't got the time to try and win dvds, packets of tea, dog food etc (although I'm sure some people are really chuffed to win these types of prizes).
I'm a sucker for holiday comps and in 2012 I won 3 long-haul holidays! I have a minimum limit prize value of £100, if it's not worth at least £100 I don't enter but that's not because I'm well off or snobby - I work full-time and have 5 teenage kids and a busy social life so I have to prioritise and pick prizes that would make a difference to me/my family.
I haven't won anything since October, that was £100 vouchers but I don't let it get me down because I know I'll be lucky enough to win something nice again one day (hopefully soon lol)0
