Disgusting service? C'mon really??
An off the cuff comment is all
I've worked in callcentres and yes you may think you only slightly "raised" your voice, sometimes it's deafening on the other end of the phone.
i work in one too as i put before... i made sure i was away from the mic on my phone0 -
I'm really surprised you called it 'disgusting' service - I was expecting you to say that the call centre person had shouted at your child, not that they had asked you not to shout at your child.0

They called you back and apologised - so why now not amend the title of this thread?
Doesn't sound disgusting to me.0 -

At this point my child (7m) starts shouting at his toys, i look over and he's very close to a laptop wire and reaching for it. I've learned a quick shout of his name to get his attention and a 'no' stops him doing things like this straight away before I pick him up to move him.
To my amazement the advisor, without being in the room and seeing, or knowing my child, says 'don't shout at your child please'
Livid! I'm sure barclaycard are a finance company, not childcare specialists.
Then he pretty much denied he said it when i questioned him. Not happy at all. Anyone else receiving this kind of disgusting service from them?
Sorry if this is the wrong thread.
Not really disgusting service really, im surprised the advisor said what he did, I would have laughed it off/ offered them a job as a child minder.0 -
neither is the thread title.lukieboy96 wrote: »That is really not called for is it!
I am presuming the comment was a tongue in cheek, and knowing how wound up she appears to have got, this poster has wrote this.
Not really disgusting service, just a member of the call centre staff not acting as a 'robot'. I guess everyone has different tolerance levels to comments that are 'outside the box' as it were and not off a script.0 -
I would have probably laughed but if your already stressed out then I can see why you would be peeved.
I once worked in a call centre and called a customer a racist because he said he couldn't understand me, I have a Scottish accent and he had an Indian accent.
Not appropriate but sometimes your mouth works quicker than your brain. All that glitters is not gold.0 -
Reminds me of a time a group of black guys asked if I would take a photo of them in London. Nice shot, they were all smiling. I handed back the camera and they took a look. One of the guys remarked that it was a classic [insert N-word] shot - they all agreed, but quickly apologised to me (a white guy) for causing any offence... The topsy-turvy world of British etiquette.0
