Just send in your soft appeal. Expect it to fail. Then you do the real job in POPLA appeal. Read what wins in the POPLA Decisions thread in the forum sticky. Signs rarely are winning or losing points.
Stop overthinking and get on with it!!!!!!0 -

b) There are issues with where the vehicle was left in that it was on land designated as 'Future Development' - ie the land owner has not developed this part of the site as yet. So should I say this now or wait until the POPLA appeal takes place after this initial appeal is probably knocked back.
c) Should this Appeal letter specifically ask for a POPLA number?
d) The NTK specifically states that "this notice relates to an unpaid contractual parking charge" As a consequence should I amend the pro forma letter accordingly?
a) Do it as soon as you're ready. If posting then get proof of postage (don't send recorded or signed for).
b) Do you have any evidence that the parking company are not employed to manage that land too? If you do then throw it in. If not then leave it to POPLA where the appeal can be worded in a way to make them disclose the evidence.
c) You do not need to specifically ask for a POPLA code. They should issue one automatically. If they don't if gives you another cause to complain both to the company and to the BPA.
d) It will make a slight difference at the POPLA stage. I wouldn't worry about it too much at this stage. Most PPC's reject initial appeals out of hand, so the idea is to get a POPLA code.0 -
UKCPS have decided not to even take it to POPLA. Received this missive today:
"Thank you for your appeal regarding the above parking charge notice.
After review of your parking charge detailed above WE HAVE DECIDED TO CANCEL (my bold). This is a one time gesture of goodwill and will not be repeated on future occasions. Please be assured that the matter is now closed on our systems."
Please may I take this opportunity to thank all of those on here who give up so much of their time in helping numpties like me. Excellent work guys and gals.
Right time to get off to Elland Road now, bloody 12.15 kick offs!!!0 -

The OP is to be congratulated for his persistence ..... in supporting a hopeless case like Leeds FC (!) ....oh AND in taking on this company and winning.

Well done!
I rather liked hearing about the Championship 12.15 kick-offs today as they panned out - even though it nearly gave me heart failure!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Been following this thread closely as a fellow victim of UKCPS whilst parking for a visit to Elland Road
Just like the OP I got my cancellation through this morning again without going to POPLA.
Just wanted to say a really big thank you for all the advice.0 -
just a quick thanks the JJ for the thread, I used a very similar letter to yours, i.e. I copied and adjusted slightly, and today got a letter cancelling the pcn from ukcps.
so if any leeds fans got ticketed at the same spot, thats at least three of us got it cancelled.
apologies for the necro bump.0 -
Whilst we normally say not to hijack someone's thread in this instance this is a great example of how someone has read the forums, found a post similar if not the same as their own situation and followed the advice given exactly the same way without asking further unnecessary questions and thus achieved a successful outcome. Well done. May others follow suit.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Click on words Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Newbie thread is the first post. Blue New Thread button is just above it to left.0
