Pitched Asbestos Slate Roof

Options
Hi all,
I was hoping for some advise. I've been hunting through my mortgage paperwork and my roof is listed as "Pitched Asbestos Slate" now in the past I've been accepting the assumptions which include tile and slate but what I'm not sure of does this count as slate, asbestos or something else and is it covered under the assumptions?

Many thanks in advance for the advice.

Slate. These tiles were the standard material used at the time, so should be covered as standard building materials in assumption. They are a pain in the *ss if you need any work done, as some roofer may charge more, as the tiles would need to be treated more carefully.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

They are asbestos cement and Are still Made although no asbestos in them since 1975ish. Don't understand the fuss as long as you don't cut the originals they are not dangerous. expensive to dispose of but again only possibly dangerous if you cut them, it's breathing in the fibres that's not good. We are stripping a roof next week, we simply take care not to create dust. We get them to the ground and a licensed firm comes and takes them away, you don't need a licence to remove them from the roof. Simple.
