Ooops, wrong reply. Just hold down left CTRL and click on the little house (Home symbol) and the new tab will be your home page

To display the home page in new tabs

Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button. In the search box, type Internet Explorer, and then, in the list of results, click Internet Explorer.

Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.

Click the General tab, and then, under Tabs, click Settings.

In the Tabbed Browsing Settings dialog box, in the When a new tab is opened, open list, click Your first home page, click OK, and then click OK again.

In Internet Explorer 7, select the Open home page for new tabs instead of a blank page check box, click OK, and then click OK again.

If I've done it right , tools > internet options > change how webpages are displayed in tabs > settings > tabbed browsing settings > Open home page for new tabs instead of a blank page

I've got that ticked, rebooted and still get the message "You've opened a new tab"

Yes, however, the "apply" icon is disabled.

One other thing which may or may not be connected, I keep getting a pop up something like "internet explorer script error"

    I have IE7 installed
