It will cause you far less stress to just pay it, sell some gifts etc if needed and move on - otherwise this will just drag on and cause more problems
OP I am sorry to read about your situation, but I agree with the above poster as it seems you have had a lucky escape from your ex and his family and paying the £500 would ensure you never have to see them again hopefully.0 -
Me? I'd pay up and move on while letting everyone know how poor they were to want you to pay what should have been a gift to their son. Lucky escape I think.0

I will be paying as cant afford to have a court judgment issued against me and possibly affecting my credit history.
For those inquiring ... he did get his ring back. I was never keeping it even after he threatened to break into my house. Trust me this was not a nice guy and I didnt see his true colours until the end.0
