Cambridge - UKPC [CONCLUDED]

Morning folks!

I've had a read through the Newbie posts and some of the threads so this isn't just a frantic plea of "Help! I need you to do everything for me!" but just a request to please confirm my understanding of what to do, is correct.
Also, I thought I'd create a clear thread title just in case other people find themselves trawling the internet today for similar information (the whole area got windscreen stickers at the same time).

Right so! The facts are this:

- Clifton Road Industrial Estate, Cambridge (this is industrial park just behind the cinema)

- Car was parked on a industrial carpark (as everyone does at this place), units were closed.

- Parking charge stuck to windscreen on return to our vehicle.

- Signs (only seen afterwards on a lamppost but not present at the unit where parked) refer to UKPC as being the enforcer of parking conditions.

- Amounts on the signs differ from the amount printed on the ticket.

The proposed action is:

- Drink some tea, go on about life. Do not contact them.

- Wait until the Notice to Keeper (NtK) comes through the post (29-56 days from now. It's costs them, and we like that).

- Write a letter of appeal (which likely won't be read and readily rejected) but which demands a POPLA code if they aren't going to drop the case.

- Submit a POPLA appeal citing no pre-estimation of cost, no signs present on unit, and the fact that other signs detail different amounts to the notice served. (Still need to do more research on this and learn what points I can rightfully use)

Is there anything I'm missing from this plan of action or does that all sound good to you folks?

Thanks,
Tem

Yep, good summary. Do be patient and await the NtK. It would be useful to get some photos of the signs to confirm the nonsense variation in charges.

Your initial appeal is already done for you by Coupon-mad, one of the country's foremost advisers on all things PCN/PPCs - it's contained in the NEWBIES sticky, it will just need topping and tailing with your details and that of your (eventual) NtK.

When you get your rejection, post up your draft POPLA appeal for the once-over from us before submission. You will undoubtedly maintain our 100% POPLA success record. Again links to successful POPLA appeal 'templates' in the sticky.

    Good luck.

Excellent plan - you obviously found the NEWBIES thread very useful.
Only thing I would add is to post up your POPLA for comments/fine tuning before submitting it.
UKPC will be easy to beat at POPLA and you'll find examples of winning UKPC POPLA appeals by following the link How to win at POPLA in NEWBIES post #3 - also if you do a forum search using either Cambridge or UKPC you'll find lots of useful info posted by others in the same boat.

Also it's great that you want to help others who may have received windscreen notices at the same place but I would advise that you edit your post to take out specific details like the time etc.

EDIT - apols Umk for any duplication/crossover - was drafting and answered phone so hadn't seen your post before I sent

Thanks bud! I went out this morning and got some photos which prove the signs quoting different amounts, and the lack of signs outside the unit/lot. I'll be sure to post updates on this thread as we go so it can be used as future reference.

Excellent. Thank you for your reply. I'll keep this thread updated with letters sent / replies...etc as we go in case it's helpful to anyone in the future. Toned down the info specifics as well a bit, thanks for the heads up!

Hey folks, Just to update you with this, the NtK has come through tonight. I'll be sorting out the appeal letter soon. Are there any particulars people feel should be followed when sending the first stage appeal letter? (Signed postage to avoid 'never received' excuse...etc?) Have a good evening!
