I'm guessing the company in question is struggling for business based on the blatantly false two posts above who 'co-incidentally' are both first time posters, one of which dredged up an old thread.

    AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID!!

Last August having just returned from Cuba, my partner and I deceided to book a cheap late holiday for 5 days. We did this through Hello Holidays online. The next day I received an automated email saying thank you for booking and a few days after that I received a phonecall to say that the return flight had been changed by some 5 hours later. At the same time I booked return transfers and was charged around £850 for two of us all inclusive at a resort in Marbella. A few days after that I received ANOTHER phonecall to say that they had made a mistake and would we like 2 nights extra for free taking it to 7 nights. I replied thank you very much but we can only fit in 5 days due to work commitments. What I later found out after the remainder of the story came out was that I'd actually booked onto a 7 night charter flight, holiday and transer deal yet they didn't bother to tell us this. The website had easily let me do this and in fact initially I'd looked at 4 days. I was told during my second phonecall to them that the return flight had again changed and was now some 8 or 9 hours later than when I'd originally booked. I enquired about the tickets and was told they would be despatched to a week or so before we were due to fly out. The weekend before we were due to fly out was the late long August bank holiday so although I still hadn't received any tickets I didn't panic too much thinking they'd arrive on the tuesday. Tuesday came and bearing in mind I was due to fly out early the next morning I contacted them. This is where their whole shambolic travel agency became apparent.
Firstly we'd booked onto a 7 night charter flight and holiday and rather than tell me and cancel it they pocketed the money and proceeded to book us onto any cheap flight they could get us back on which is why the return flights kept changing. How we were suppossed to make the 2 hour transfer to Malaga airport via the prepaid coach which was booked for the 7 days I have yet to find out.
In response to my enquiries as to where the tickets and confirmations had gone to - they said that that was an issue I needed to take up with Royal Mail. When I then went onto say that if I was returning by a separate carrier then surely that must have some sort of ticket too, I was told that both sets of tickets (charter flight, hotel, transfer papers then Easyjet tickets) had been despatched seperately to me. Neither set arrived or have arrived since. Again something to take up with Royal Mail.
I remained pleasant but firm and this was met with abject officiousness and my requests to speak to a manager were met with a refusal as there was not one available.
Hello Holidays told me I should go to a booth somewhere in Gatwick at 2am to collect the flight tickets I said that after so many !!!! ups ther was no chance I was risking that, let alone what might happen the other end when I got there. In response to that the officious customer services woman said she'd email them to me. Despite giving her both my email and my partners and religiously checking for the rest of the day including junk we didnt receive anything until the next day by which time our flight had gone. When I wrote and complained I was told that they couldn't do anything as it was my choice not to go with them (presumably because I didnt have enough faith in them to travel to Gatwick for 2 am to look for a booth somewhere on the off chance they might have my travel details never mind hotel and all includsive details and transfer details. Not to forget the issue that had we actually gone how were we suppossed to get back to Malaga airport 5 days later. Presumably by taxi that wew'd have to pay for!)
Needless to say we have lost £850 by trying to get a bargain with Hello Holidays. I pity people that have less money than me and may have set their hearts on a cheap holiday with this company. Avoid them like the plague and use a high street store having done internet research as at least you have a focus point to come back to and the majority will match internet prices.

  • i recently booked a holiday to lloret de mar in spain with this company (hello holidays) believing it was very cheap. i was told i would get a confirmation email but i never received the email. So i had to ring up customer services asking for a confirmation letter/email before i even thought about paying the balance. i was kept on hold for nearly an hour on the 0817 number, when i eventually got to speak to a real person the customer services i received was the worst ever, the woman was so snotty and rude. i asked to speak to a manager and was told none were available and one would ring me back, which never happened.

my advice is DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IT IS THE WORST ONE EVER

Well, they still probably had my £850 knocking around spare!!

My advice to the masses would be to continue to avoid "Hello Holidays" like the plague!!

  • We have used them a few times, to calella and to cyprus and to be honest they were the best holidays we have had. 2 ad and 3 ch was just over a grand all inc for both hols so you can't complain. Rooms have been clean and tidy, kids clubs, food good always in central location. We will be using them for the 3rd yr running. Hope this helps.

I have booked a late deal with them and have had to make numerous phone calls (0871 number) in order to get email confirmation of holiday tickets etc. I now really need a holiday! The admin department is NOT at all good if my experience is representative of them.
