Would 02 knock my contract down to £10 a month?

Hi everyone,

Apologies if I'm posting this out of place, or if these sorts of queries shouldn't be made as standalone posts. I'm looking for some advice in relation to my 02 Pay Monthly contract.

I'm currently on the 02 200 12 month contract of 200 mins/200 texts for £15 a month, and my contract expires at the end of this month. I've just noticed the Online 15 offer on the company's site - 200 mins/400 texts for the same price.

I'm not too concerned about a new handset, but considering that I've been with 02 for three years, do you think it's feasible at all that I'll be able to haggle an even lower price for that sort of contract?

I know I'm pushing PAYG ground, considering how little I spend, but I like the reliability of a contract. Would playing customer services off against a little whilte lie about a Vodafone deal for 75 mins/250 texts at £9 a month for 8 months, then £18 for the remaining three work?

If not, please excuse my naivety. I appreciate your help. =)

Thanks,

Andrew.

Its worth a try. There are a lot of great prices out there just now so they might just go for it to keep you.

    Andrew,

If you give O2 Retentions a call at the end of your contract i'm sure they will put you onto this tariff, they might give you something extra for your loyalty to the network.

    Give them a call on 0800 028 8151

    Hi

I've just got a new deal (from yesterday in fact), 200 anytime mins plus 250 txts for £5 per month.

It is a sim free deal with 02 which credits my account with £300 immediately, so I pay £30 per month for months 11 and 12 only - the first 10 months being free. No nasty cashbacks either.

Might be of interest to you?

Sounds like your O2 contract is with O2-CPW

    Hey, guys.

    Thanks for your responses.

I've phoned Retentions twice now. The first time I was offered nothing cheaper than what I already pay (£15 a month), even after I mentioned the Vodafone deal from my first post. They just refused to budge.

I then phoned a second time, repeating my spiel, but they still wouldn't bring the price down at all, telling me that they would simply not match a £9 a month price. I said I wanted to cancel, they gave me the address... but I still don't want to!

Is there any hope for me of getting a lower deal?

That CPW one sounds interesting; do I pop into one of their stores to check that out?

    Hi

Yes, you are correct - sorry if I have misled anyone here?

Frankly, I thought 02 was better than 02 via Carphone Warehouse?

...I'm not sure 02 ans 02 CPW cross over? Plus it was arranged over the phone via retentions, not in a store.

I think this was the term they used?

Basically, it is a new deal that uses the existing phone and sim card from the previous contract.
