Disabled Parking Bay UKCPS ticket
2014N
Ok, so I have read lots of threads and am terribly confused ... let me explain..
I parked in a disabled bay in Centertainment in Sheffield. It was directly in front of Nando's, which I decided to visit to pick up a quick snack.
I do not own a disabled blue badge, and am not registered disabled, but I did find myself having to park in a disabled bay for a short space of time (5 to 10 mins) and was issed a ticket from UK CPS for parking in a disabled bay with no badge displayed.
I did try to locate an appropriate space, but the last 2 were taken within seconds just before. I thought that it would not be a problem to only use the space for that short amount of time.
I do suffer with tinnitus, visual snow and also had a long bout of vertigo earlier in the year, which I think is caused by stress, which since overnight has returned. I know it is no excuse, but I can find walking through crowds of people stressful, as was waiting for food in a place with music, as it aggrivates my tinnitus and I do have a slight anxiety problem which stops me being in unfarmiliar public places for long, which I am suffering with and have done for some time.
So where do I stand with this situation in 2014? Do I have to pay this if I don't have a disabled badge at all?
Other replies and posts do not seem to apply to my situation, and being on a computer for long periods of time do make my symptoms of vertigo worse, so any helpful advice would be great. I am really dizzy today and want to be sure on this issue.
I know it could be technically my fault for not being disabled enough, or registered disabled at all, but the stress of all this may put me out of work if my vertigo continues to worsen. It has come on badly overnight and I do not want to be off 2 months again.
Please help.

The first thing you need to do is read the **NEWBIES!! PRIVATE PARKING TICKET? OLD OR NEW? **READ THESE FAQS FIRST!** Thankyou!
thread at the top of the page, then start a new thread of your own. Posting on someone else's thread only causes confusion and information will only be aimed at the original poster, not you. In addition, the law changed since this thread was started so anything you have rad so far will be out of date.
Blue badges are not the only indicator of a disability, and they are not applicable on private land in any case.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Your post will be split from this thread in due course by Crabman.
What to do in your situation? Well start from post one and read everything in the entire thread, your answer is hereWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

As I stated, I am getting more dizzy and unwell the more I try to read which is causing me physical sickness.
A direct response will help me more.

I suggest you copy the posts to a word document and print them out in a font that doesn't cause you problems. I am trying to be helpful as you really need to read the posts, it may help if its on a piece of paper. The reason I ask that is because the appeal you need is in post number one of this thread.
The direct answer is that what has happened on the day has little relevance, you appeal this by taking apart their whole business, not on mitigating circumstances. You obviously have a deliberating condition that is long term, it will be a protected charistic of the Equality Act 2012, which means you are entitled to use these parking bays.
So add that into any appeal, don't admit to driving, just say the 'Driver' has this condition. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

the problem here is you have not mentioned when this happened, when the first postal pcn arrived or any other pertinent information that helps us to help you
if it was recent you appeal to UKCPS using the template in this thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822 following this flowchart https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4922055 and if they provide a popla code or codes then appeal to popla using one of the dozens of the popla appeals listed on this forum that have recently won
you should still send in appeals using the appeal template for each and every pcn you have received, to UKCPS but ignore debt collectors as they can do nothing
also complain to the landowner too, citing the EA 2010 as it may be relevant in your case
if you get an LBC or court papers from northampton or salford , then come back for more help
bear in mind if you cannot read the help and links given, get an able bodied person to do the donkey work for you (we will help you, but we wont do it for you)
good luck
ps:- in future make sure you pay and display on that car park or comply with the signage, and appeal any future postal pcn from ukcps on there asap, if not sooner !0 -
You don't need to read lots of threads. Just read the 'Private parking ticket? NEWBIES please read these FAQs first!' thread at the top of this forum.
Once you have the first letter in the post (NOT BEFORE) copy & paste the template first appeal into a word document, adding your name & address of course and the PCN number/ref/date etc. and send it off - but ONLY when the first letter arrives.
This is all explained in the NEWBIES thread - one thread to read, that's all.
And I won't judge you about your parking as you say you have a long-term anxiety issue which could well mean you are covered by the Equality Act 2010 anyway (don't get excited about that, neither UKCPS nor POPLA will care). But I would warn against you using a disabled bay in future because you will collect tickets. Why not so what the rest of us do and keep driving round or wait for a space.
P.S. I never link the sticky threads as they are at the top of the parking forum and it's imperative that you learn how to nip from thread to thread and back to the first page where the sticky threads are. Don't rely on links! I will give you this one though if you need to learn more about how to use the forum:
New To The Forum?
P.P.S. Your threads now need merging into one, as your previous posts were split into a new thread - where you already have replies:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4928719
Keep to one thread throughout the simple 2 stage appeal process - remember it is NOT YET if you've only had a pathetic windscreen ticket.
P.P.P.S. You have identified yourself to UKCPS on this thread you know, with your description of location etc. Edit your posts and don't reply to a private message by any non-regular poster, in case it's UKCPS.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Okay your other thread which was split from coupons sticky thread is below. We need to keep the advice together. I do suggest that you follow the advice given. Please as I said print out the posts if you can't read them on screen.
