As part of my job I spend some time searching on companies house to see if the directors of a given company are directors of any others. In most instances there are at least 3 or 4 listed directors with the same name, and the only way to distinguish between them is their date of birth.
As this information is publicly available, it'll be the easiest way for the public to tie this directorship to any other directorships you have.
Having said that, I'm sure there are mechanisms that could be employed such as by address, unique code, company inception, shares, etc etc to distinguish between companies and their directors!0 -
So I can glean than there is indeed noway to hide this data? That's the answer I was looking for.

Become a sole trader or partnership. I know a couple of very wealthy people that do not operate Limited Company status for the very reasons you have given. They prefer to keep their financial affairs very quiet.0 -

You won't be able to hide it on Companies House, and as that is publicly accessible, I'll go with there is no way to stop all the other sites sharing this data either!
Directors names are published on annual returns, so it's fairly hard go disguise. You could make someone else director - shareholders and owners are much more difficult to trace.0 -

I have 2 friends as directors on my own company for that exact reason; my financial affairs only mention what I want to here.
I also have different people as director on different companies, for exactly the same reason.
