The police are dealing with it as I already said however its not a situation they have delt with before and are listening to arguments from both sides while trying to decide what to do.

The amount being asked is out of reach of the finances of the mother, over £200 with no proof that it even visited a vet at all.

It's good the police are dealing with the situation. I notice you're accusing people of making snide comments - well, I suggested going to the CAB when you hadn't mentioned the police, which was meant to be helpful.

It's a concern that you say the owner can't afford to pay the £200 - any responsible owner knows vet bills are expensive and that a pet can become ill. Although you're saying the cat was in good health, you also admit you're a third party and the owner can't afford vets bills - so perhaps the cat actually really was ill. In which case thank goodness someone was there to make sure it got medical attention.

As the police are dealing with the situation, I'm not sure what you're wanting people on here to say/suggest? Like I said, I did mention CAB but apparently that's 'snide'.....

    I believe this outcome. 100%

Why would the daughter believe a reward would be offered if the mams too skint to afford £200.

    Yeah right.

Urm because they love their cat? Are you telling me that you think all 16 year olds know how much money their parents have?

Really not bothered what you believe.

Well lets just say I am so happy this was all able to be resolved, messages read, cat obtained and police informed of fraud in the space of mere hours on a Saturday!

If she loved her cat she would have already paid the £200 to get it back... or read the messages first, or got it back through the police. If it was true I mean :)

You're right. This 16 year obviously isn't bright if they thought 'admitting to stealing a cat' would be better/bring in more dosh than saying it had ran off and was missing...

I haven't used any bad language I just sujested that you go shopping at fcuk, I here they have a sale on lives at the moment.

Perhaps you should go buy one yourself & live it away from mse if you think it's ok to be rude to posters. If you choose to post on an open forum you have to expect opinions from people. If it's individual & pertinent advise you want, then go find a solicitor.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

I think it's more a case of a cat nap and that the daughter has a future career as a cat burglar.

The buyer should keep the cat, as the present owners should not be allowed to keep pets if that the way they are going to look after them
Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring
