I have started a petition requesting that Trading Standards, the Ombudsman and the Government investigate the circumstances behind Ovivo and that steps are taken to prevent other companies from taking people's money when they are on the verge of collapse.

The petition can be found here: http://www.gadgetfans.co.uk

PLEASE share this link and ask everyone who was affected by the closure to sign! Maybe Ovivo will come good and refund the money owed; if not hopefully the Government will introduce measures to prevent companies from continuing to sell to the public when they have no intentions of delivering on their promises.

People power can and will win through at the end of the day!

Edit: Shorter, easy to remember URL added; direct URL: http://www.change.org/petitions/uk-telecommunications-ombudsman-we-request-that-a-full-investigation-into-the-closure-of-ovivo-mobile-is-carried-out?

  • There are already laws in place preventing companies from trading whilst insolvent.

This is the kind of thing that happens from time to time in a free market society... If you don't like it, perhaps you should go and live in Cuba.

Can I suggest you never buy a sofa ( as just one example ) from one of the major high street chains as they do this kind of thing regularly, take deposits off people and the next day go into liquidation.
